Thomson bicycle seatposts and seatpost clamps are among the strongest available in the market today and are designed to flex rather not break. They are manufactured to last a long time while also being lightweight, they are very strong and safe.

Thompson claims their seatposts are more than 40 per cent stronger than that of other production seatposts out there in the marketplace. In fact, Thomson claim that their seatposts have more than double the fatigue life and have superior strength while also weighing less than comparable seatposts.
The shaft of the seatpost and the seatpost clamp are machined from one single piece of high strength aluminum. Unlike many other seatposts, the clamp is pressed rather than bonded to the seatpost shaft.
The road bike version of Thompson’s Elite seatpost is 250mm long and weighs just 188 grams. The Elite seatpost for mountain bikes has a 330mm shaft and weighs 228 grams.
The Thomson Masterpiece seatpost is a higher end seatpost designed specifically for professional riders. They do cost a lot more so these are not for every rider. In fact, most riders will find just the seatpost they need in the Elite range.
